Introduction

The educational programme “Maritime Administration and Organisation” seeks to provide comprehensive knowledge on the operation and management of maritime businesses. Purpose - Objective

The purpose of the programme is to equip participants with the necessary knowledge and skills related to the management of shipping companies, so that they can analyse (e.g. shipping market trends), evaluate (e.g. ship performance) and implement (e.g. strategies for shipping services) effective strategies in the industry.

Academic Supervisors’ Details

The authors of the educational material are Ms Stefania Stefanoglou and Ms. Markella Gota

Ms. Stefanoglou is a PhD candidate at the Department of Shipping and Business Services of the University of the Aegean. She has completed her undergraduate studies at the same department, with a thesis on the economic impact of yachting, while she also holds a Master’s degree in Integrated Product Design and Innovation. In her Master’s thesis, she studied ways to avoid unpleasant experiences on yachts, focusing on sailing yachts. At the same time, her research activity focuses on creating a sustainable identity for marine tourism through Marine Spatial Planning.

Ms. Markella Gota holds a degree in Maritime Economics from the Department of Shipping and Business Services of the University of the Aegean.

Professor Maria Lekakou, who has many years of teaching and research experience in Maritime Economics at universities in Greece and abroad, contributed to the development of the educational material with scientific guidance, text commentary and discussions with the authors.
