Operation and Minor Maintenance Technician for Sanitary Landfill Sites – Landfill

INFORMATON

Introduction

The educational material describes the basic principles of waste and landfill management, with reference to units of measurement, physical quantities and material characteristics. It examines the waste deposited in landfills, the methods of management, as well as storage and transport equipment. It also describes the technical specifications of landfills, the environmental management systems and the relevant standards (ISO 14001, EMAS). The construction and operation of landfills, from site selection to post-closure monitoring, is also analysed.

Purpose - Objective

The purpose of this educational programme is to train and qualify participants in sustainable waste and landfill management, promoting environmental protection and compliance with international standards and regulations. It aims to develop technical skills, develop an understanding of environmental impacts, familiarise participants with modern technologies, and promote sustainable solutions that reduce waste production and promote cooperation for effective landfill management.
