The educational programme focuses on the knowledge and skills necessary to provide immediate assistance in emergency situations until the arrival of specialised medical assistance. Participants, upon completion of the programme, will be able to assess emergency situations, perform basic life-saving techniques such as Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), deal with situations such as bleeding, trauma and allergic reactions, and use specialised equipment such as the Automated External Defibrillator (AED).
The purpose and aim of this programme is to provide participants with the necessary knowledge and skills to assess and deal with emergencies until the arrival of specialised medical assistance. The program focuses on preserving life, preventing the deterioration of the situation and promoting recovery. It aims to enable participants to be able to apply techniques such as Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), use equipment such as the Automated External Defibrillator (AED) and provide first aid in cases of injury, bleeding and respiratory failure.

Academic Supervisors’ Details
The author of the educational material is Mr.Anagnostou Anastasios, who is an employee of EKAB (National Centre for Emergency Care), a trainer in Basic Life Support (BLS) and in Advanced Life Support (ILS, ALS), a Trauma Trainer of the American College of Surgeons (PHTLS, TFR, B.CON), a trainer at EKAB’s IEK (Vocational Training Centre), a trainer of Continuing Education of EKAB, a trainer of groups of the general population.
