Dr. Garefalakis E. Alexandros is an Assistant Professor (tenured) at the Department of Business and Tourism Management of the School of Management and Economics (S.E.M.S.) of the Hellenic Mediterranean University (H.M.U). Graduate of the Department of Financial Applications of the University of Western Macedonia, with a Master’s degree in Accounting and Finance from the University of Southampton (UK) and a PhD in Accounting, entitled “Indicators for measuring the quality of narrative information quality of financial statements before and after the introduction of international accounting standards”. In addition, he is a member of the Economic Chamber of Greece and holds a Class A license and the professional titles of Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and Certified Management Accountant (CMA). He has a high level of professional experience in accounting, having run his own business since 2006, and has also worked as a consultant and supervisor on a variety of European projects, audits and studies for companies and organisations. He also has twelve years of academic teaching experience (in undergraduate and postgraduate programmes). He has published more than seventy (70) scientific papers in prestigious international journals, twenty two (22) papers in national and international conferences and has authored six (6) accounting books. He has been awarded first prizes in innovation competitions for his AIQAD (An Intelligent Qualitative Analysis Database) and the Ma.Co.I index which he has developed. His main research interests focus on the scientific areas of : Disclosure Narrative information, ESG, I.F.R.S, Management Commentary Index (Ma.Co.I), Auditing, Quality of Financial Statements, Weighting models in Accounting, Accounting and Operation Research, Multiple Criteria Decision-Making in Management Accounting.
Dr. Panagiotis Kyriakogonas is a member of the International Institute of Internal Auditors, a certified Internal Auditor. He holds the Certified Internal Auditor (C.I.A.), Certified Government Auditing Professional (C.G.A.P.) and Certified in Control Self-Assessment (C.C.S.A.) certifications. He is a member of the Economic Chamber of Greece and holds a Class A tax accountant license. He has extensive experience of more than 15 years in internal audit in both listed and unlisted companies. He also has over 15 years of experience in providing accounting and tax services to various companies. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration with a major in Public Finance from Panteion University of Social and Political Sciences, a Master’s degree in Business Administration from Lancaster University in the United Kingdom and a PhD in Business Administration from the University of the Aegean. He has participated in international conferences and has published original articles and studies in peer-reviewed journals and the specialised press on topics related to accounting, corporate governance, internal control systems and internal audit and has over 6 years of teaching experience, both at undergraduate and postgraduate level. His research interests cover the fields of corporate governance, accounting, risk management and auditing.
Stavros Haidemenos is a teacher with 35 years of service in Primary Education as a teacher, deputy headmaster and for the last six years headmaster at the 12th Primary School of Vyronas and the 77th Primary School of Athens – Melina Mercouri. He holds a degree from the Marasleion Pedagogical Academy and a Master’s degree in Public Health from the National School of Public Health. He has participated in training seminars of pedagogical and public health interest both as a trainee and as a trainer. He has produced papers on environment, social cohesion and prevention in the fields of public health and civil protection. He is a member of the writing team of the textbook ‘E-bug, Students in the land of germs’ for primary school.
