Introduction

Ioanna Balafouti

Ms. Balafouti was born and lives in Athens. She worked for 11 years in the internet industry as New Media Producer and Digital Marketing Director. During these years she handled Greek and international brands from various sectors of the economy and was honored with national and international awards.
She has studied visual communication (Diploma of Art & Design – AKTO / Middlesex University) and is a Certified Expert in Social Media Marketing Techniques and Tools (ESYD). Believing in lifelong learning, she has been trained in Adult Education (EKPA) and in Educational Management (Panteion).
She has worked for 3 years as a Gastronomy Programme Manager in IIEK (Institute of Vocational Training). She teaches “Innovation in Gastronomy, Culinary Concept and Product Development” in Institutes of Vocational Training (IIEK), Colleges and Lifelong Learning Centres (LLC). She is a speaker in seminars at Generation Ag / New Agriculture – New Generation and at the Mediterranean Institute for Nature and Man – Medina. She is a mentor to Food Start-ups, Cooperatives, Municipalities and is a member of the Mediterranean Agri-Food Competence Centre MACC.”
She is the author of hospitality and catering manuals for INSETE, including “International, Special and Greek Dietary Standards”, “Organization of a Catering Unit”, “Design, Production, Product Presentation”. She is editor of the printed and digital magazine CANTINA of the newspaper PROTO THEMA. She is Jury Manager at the Specialist Awards and participates in tastings of olive oils, food, wine and follows gastronomic destinations.
